Leadership.
Yes, I jumped straight into it because there’s really no need to beat around the bush.
Every social system needs leadership, but not just any kind of leadership; GOOD leadership.
If recent events have highlighted anything important and worthy of note, it is that leadership is an absolute must for every social system; homes, schools, workplaces, etc. I’m well aware that there is a whole list of things social systems need to survive and thrive, and rightly so too. But, what if we focus on one vital thing, then diligently work our way from there? What if we drill down to one essential thing that’s been proven to facilitate the achievement of other needful things? What if we keep things simple and we focus on working leadership well for the benefit of all concerned?
While it might sound bold for me to suggest that leadership is the one thing that every social system needs, it is absolutely true. Think about it…if our homes, institutions, and/or workplaces had good leadership, things will undoubtedly work well. There’ll be healthy interactions and relationships in our social systems. People will form productive collaborations. There’ll be better distribution of resources and that will lead to more progress and growth. In fact, things like engagement, well-being, and productivity will be constant features in our social systems.
I know focusing on one thing can seem quite audacious to some leaders, and some might even think of it as restrictive. But, if the one thing you focus on is fundamental, needful, positively potent, and a force for good, why would you choose to ignore it? Isn’t it more profitable to focus on one thing (that we know can produce favourable outcomes for the common good) than concern yourself with many things that might or might not produce favourable outcomes?
I can assure you that focusing on leadership makes good sense. It will help you achieve the many other things that your social system needs to survive and thrive.
Times have changed, and from the look of things, they’ll keep changing. It will be highly unwise for us to ignore the one thing we know can produce good results in spite of changing ‘seasons’. It’ll be unwise of us to ignore GOOD LEADERSHIP. I’ve done the hard work for you by finding out about it so you don’t have to. Now it’s up to you to give it the attention it deserves and work it till it produces the good results we know it can produce.
Here’s the bottom line: we need good leadership in our lives and in our social systems if we want to thrive. It is not a nice-to-have, it is a must-have; especially in these uncertain times when we need something reliable.
It is my firm belief that leadership is a force for good and a strong determinant of personal and communal success. This is why I am so passionate about it and why I’ve decided to help as many change agents as possible, to practice it well.
