We all want to be successful in our leadership roles. I say this because I am yet to find one leader who doesn’t want success; whatever it might mean to you or how you choose to define it. Let me ask you a question; what if there was a wheel you could turn that would guarantee your leadership success? Would you turn it? I know I would.
The good news is there is a wheel you could turn and if you turn it every day, you will be successful in your role as a leader. This wheel is what I call the wheel of success and it’s a simple figurative wheel that pulls you towards success. Here’s the principle for how it works: Know your role, know your gifts, and function diligently in them. In other words, find out what it truly means to be a leader, know what your key responsibilities are, be aware of your gifts and skills, and apply yourself accordingly. The seemingly simple things are in fact the foundational things that ensure your success. while high-flying tactics and strategies are good and commendable, they are ineffective without the fundamentals; basic things like knowing your role and functioning diligently in it.
As a success-minded leader, your role is complex enough, there’s no need to add any more complexity to it. The wheel of success I’m offering is a dependable way to focus on, as well as channel your efforts toward the most productive things that matter to your success. It doesn’t get much simpler than this; know your role and apply yourself diligently in it every day. In other words, get knowledge, be diligent, and remain consistent.
