Mediation is a dispute resolution process where disputes between two (or more) parties are discussed and resolved with the help of an impartial, qualified third party (a mediator). It creates dialogues and effective conversations that matter; the kind of conversations that people need to have.
It is an alternative process to litigation and it is constructive, cost-effective and, time-saving.

Before the day of mediation, both parties will receive a mediation booking form to fill and return. Once both parties return the form, I’ll contact both parties to agree on dates, discuss logistics and answer any questions they might have. Usually, mediations last a whole day. However, there are exceptions and this depends on the nature of the case. Some cases might end up lasting only half a day while others might go on for more than one day.
On the agreed day of the mediation, I’ll facilitate the entire process by encouraging the involved parties to talk freely about the issues that concern them, then I’ll help them come up with a solution they are both happy with.
The entire process is confidential and it gives the involved parties control over the outcome of the process. When a settlement is reached by the parties, it is put in writing and signed by them; making the settlement a binding document.
My main role is to help the involved parties focus on the real issues of the dispute and help them reach a joint decision. I facilitate the process in a way that provides an opportunity for each party to openly express their feelings and also communicate face to face with the other party. This is so that the real issues can be discovered and both parties can both work towards an agreement that they are both happy with.
